Alaska Breast Cancer Advocacy Partners (ABCAP) is a non-profit, grass-roots advocacy organization. Our mission is to provide breast cancer advocacy information to individuals who are interested in making a difference in breast cancer legislation and funding in the State of Alaska and in Washington, D.C.

ABCAP is not a support group for women with breast cancer, but an advocacy group for those passionate about the eradication of breast cancer. Advocates are responsible for educating elected and appointed political officials in Alaska and Washington, D.C. about important breast cancer legislation and educate the public on current, meaningful breast cancer legislative activity.

We offer information and legislative alerts through email. There is no charge for this service. ABCAP does not publish, sell or share member information with other organizations. We believe each new activist is one more step toward eradicating breast cancer.

Funding for research is primary in finding a cure and legislative funding starts and continues with activists. We invite you to join us in the fight against breast cancer by becoming a member. You have the power to fight breast cancer - It's fast, it's easy and best of all, it's free. ABCAP can help you make a difference.

Until there's a cure, there's ABCAP!

Results from Alaska Breast Cancer Needs Assessment are in!

The breast cancer needs assessment was carried out by the Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services at the University of Alaska Anchorage.  Limited research has been conducted to evaluate the unique needs of breast cancer survivors living in Alaska. The purpose of this needs assessment was to identify medical and allied healthcare needs, educational needs, quality of life concerns, physical challenges, and necessary emotional and coping supports for female breast cancer survivors in Alaska. Findings are intended to:

-Increase knowledge about the experience of breast cancer among Alaskan women;

-Increase information about services needed to better meet the needs of women with breast cancer; and

-Develop recommendations for providers, policy makers, and administrators about how to improve services.
