Alaska Breast Cancer Advocacy Partners (ABCAP) is a non-profit, grass-roots advocacy organization. Our mission is to provide breast cancer advocacy information to individuals who are interested in making a difference in breast cancer legislation and funding in the State of Alaska and in Washington, D.C.

ABCAP is not a support group for women with breast cancer, but an advocacy group for those passionate about the eradication of breast cancer. Advocates are responsible for educating elected and appointed political officials in Alaska and Washington, D.C. about important breast cancer legislation and educate the public on current, meaningful breast cancer legislative activity.

We offer information and legislative alerts through email. There is no charge for this service. ABCAP does not publish, sell or share member information with other organizations. We believe each new activist is one more step toward eradicating breast cancer.

Funding for research is primary in finding a cure and legislative funding starts and continues with activists. We invite you to join us in the fight against breast cancer by becoming a member. You have the power to fight breast cancer - It's fast, it's easy and best of all, it's free. ABCAP can help you make a difference.

ABCAP Co-Hosts Musa Mayer June 5 & 6, 2008

ABCAP is co-sponsoring two health talks with renowned breast cancer survivor, author and advocate, Musa Mayer, on June 5th and 6th at the new Providence Cancer Center.

Receptions with hors d'oeuvres will proceed each event at 5:30 p.m. Musa speaks regularly at the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) Advocacy Training Conference in Washington D.C., where ABCAP board members have found her talks engaging, relevant, and extremely informative.

Her extensive knowledge of breast cancer science benefits men and women across the country through NBCC's Project LEAD program, an innovative and in-depth breast cancer science course, which trains breast cancer activists to play a vital role in influencing research and public policy processes. Musa's ability to explain complex and difficult topics in a clear and logical manner is legendary in the breast cancer world. Open the flyer for details on this Anchorage event. Please join ABCAP in welcoming Musa Mayer to Alaska. Registration deadline is June 3rd. Send all questions to info@abcap.alaska.com
